Harry Thoman began playing bass at the age of 13 after taking childhood piano lessons initially. Harry played in a variety of bands in Ohio, finished his education that led to a daytime gig and was transferred to Texas in 1987. Since then, Harry has played with several bands in both Dallas and Houston during his free time. His influences include George Benson, Jeff Lorber, Grover Washington, David Sanborn, Ramsey Lewis, Herbie Hancock and Miles Davis along with many favorite bassists. He is proficient on both four and five string bass instruments and enjoys playing jazz, R&B and blues, i.e. when allowed to bring a funk style to compliment the music.
Harry plays a Tobias 5-string and a Kawai 4-string through either a Behringer or Peavey amp depending on the size of the venue.
